Mobile equipment repair in Bradford County

Mining and timber ground is the hardest life a machine gets.

Starke sits on US 301, which runs straight through the centre of town and north about twenty six miles to Baldwin and I-10. SR 100 crosses it and SR 16 runs east toward Green Cove Springs, which is how we usually come. There is a four lane bypass around town that opened in 2019, with interchanges at SR 100 and SR 16, though it carries no exit numbers.

Two things dominate the heavy equipment picture here. One is mineral sands mining on the Trail Ridge formation, a large operation that has been running since 2022. The other is timber, which is Bradford County's biggest outbound freight by weight. Both put machines to work in abrasive material, which is the hardest life a hydraulic system and an undercarriage can have.

Then there is Camp Blanding, the Florida National Guard's joint training center of around seventy three thousand acres, roughly eight miles east of town, plus three state correctional institutions about ten miles northwest. Institutional facilities that size run their own equipment and pull in their own contractors.

Abrasive material changes the maintenance math. A machine working mineral sands or clay does not follow the same service intervals as one on a subdivision. If your filters and seals are failing early, that is the reason, and it is fixable.

02

The US 301 bypass

Questions we get

Common equipment repair questions around Starke.

Does Starke have an interstate exit?
No. Starke is a US highway town on US 301, with SR 100 and SR 16 crossing. The nearest numbered interstate exit that feeds it is I-10 exit 343 at US 301, about twenty six miles north at Baldwin.
What about the Starke bypass, does it have exit numbers?
It does not. The four lane bypass around town has interchanges at SR 100 and SR 16 but they are not numbered, so we work off road names and cross streets instead.
How long does it take you to reach Starke?
About an hour on a normal run, coming across SR 16 from the Green Cove Springs side. Call for a real window on the day.
Do you service mining equipment?
Yes. Machines working mineral sands and other abrasive material need different service intervals and different attention to filtration and seals. We will tell you what is failing early and why.
Do you repair logging equipment around Starke?
Yes. Skidders, loaders and log trucks working tracts across Bradford County. Access on soft ground is the thing to describe when you call.
Can you work at Camp Blanding?
We service contractors and equipment in the area. Access to any government facility is controlled by that facility, so tell us what is required and we will work with it.
Do you do roadside truck repair on US 301?
Yes. It is a heavy corridor and roadside work is a regular part of what we do here.
Why do my filters keep plugging early?
If the machine works in abrasive material, that is usually the answer, and the fix is a shorter interval plus attention to how the system is being sealed and filled. It is worth diagnosing rather than just replacing more often.
